Why it's more than just fake news

Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black |
We've been hearing a lot lately about how to check your news to see if it's truthful & factual. Fake news is a problem no one is denying that, but I thought maybe there’s more to
the story. Tabloid news isn’t new, it’s the increasing amount of people who
believe it to be. Men In Black maybe had something to do with it, according to
Agent K, The Hot Sheets is where they get the real truth (Men In Black is a movie with Will
Smith & Tommy Lee Jones. They flashy thing’d people.) These articles from sites like infowars.com & breitbart.com are being shared on social media with
your Clinton conspiracies & Trump logic, or is it that we don’t care & nothing matters. The truth may be somewhere in the middle.
Two Pew Research Studies just came out recently, the first says that over 60% of adult Americans get their news from social media! Primarily FACEBOOK!!! Dun Dun Dun! Alright we’re out there…reading…stuff we deem newsworthy, with about 44% of the general population on Facebook according to the Pew Study, seems like we’d be informed right?!
Prepare to be disturbed and stupefied by this!
20% of social media users overall, change their stance on social and political topics due to the material they absorb.
Let’s recap, majority of people read for basically no reason. We have been saying Fake News is the problem for like a couple weeks now, don’t get me wrong circulating non-factual news stories is not something I condone, but if 80% of the country is like: I don’t care about this story, Let me share it. How is Fake news the biggest problem?

How do we even get people striking down false information if they don’t even think the information is valuable or worthy of challenging their thinking? People going on about the latest drummed up conspiracy from iswearitstruenews.net is counterproductive, I get that, but it’s also bad when we read the conspiracies and don’t refute them, or check to see if it’s true.
In the age of information apathy is a close friend of ignorance. Let’s make America care about being informed again. Let’s get that on a hat yesterday. Am I right?
